Competitors Catches

For once the weather gods were with us, day one of the tournament had brilliant sunshine and light winds, although the Solent had a bit of swell running making things a little uncomfortable off shore.

Down at Christchurch Harbour the local dealer Crazywater and Ocean Kayak were having a demo day, a decision was made to pop in and say hi beforing heading out to fish, as I launched SpeciMan was coming back in having fished the rising tide, Overrun and Kayakkarma were still out in the Solent and Richi had just arrived at the Demo having fished from Midnight.

About four hours later I finally got out to fish! The demo was going very well and the sight of fully loaded fishing kayaks got the attention of the passing day trippers and business was brisk for everyone at the demo.

With nothing happening on the seaward side of the harbour, Richi and I headed to another mark fishing into the night, three species for me and another one to add to the champions tally.

Else where some were struggling to get amongst the species but the weather thankfully stayed with us.

Thanks to all those that made the effort and well done to those in the medals.
