Free Kayak Fishing Weekend at Oxnead Fishery

Free Fishing Weekend:
The owner of Oxnead Fishery has kindly offered 4 places FREE freshwater fishing each day on the 2nd and 3rd of July. There are still 2 places available on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. This is prime fishing on the river Bure above Buxton Mill in Norfolk.

This pristine and rarely fished beat with a history of specimen pike and brown trout is about 2km long. The slow moving water with plenty of cover makes it is an ideal venue for kayak fishing and this is a great opportunity for kayak members of the Angling Trust to get an additional membership benefit.

Kayak Angling members of the Trust will join Paul Fennell, the Angling Trust's kayak angling coordinator for this free fishing weekend. Expect to catch: large chub, pike, perch, barbel, brown trout with the possibility of bream, roach, rudd, dace and carp.

​

Deer, barn owls, hobbies and other interesting species of bird are often seen at the venue.

Day Tickets for Angling Trust Freshwater Kayakers at Oxnead
If you can't make it this weekend then Kayak Fishing Day Tickets at Oxnead are now available to Angling Trust Members ONLY. A maximum of four anglers per day are allowed so you can be sure that this special venue will not be overcrowded.

Kayak Fishing Day Tickets must be pre-booked via e-mail to oxneadfishery@yahoo.co.uk and you will recieve a parking permit & map by reply. You must be a Kayak Angling Trust member on the day(s) that you fish.

These advance only Kayak Fishing Day Tickets will be issued for £15.00 when you arrive. Payment of £15 by cheque to MR AW HURST or cash on the day.

First Angling Trust Kayak Fishing Safety Courses Launched!

The first of these one day courses will be held on July 9th at Rudyard Lake, ST13 8XB , Staffordshire where rough weather and sea conditions won't ruin the day! Emphasis will be on the on-the-water coaching so expect to get wet, enjoy yourself and meet like-minded 'yakkers.
